KOLKATA: The Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) on Friday recommended Leader Minister Mamata Banerjee to seem into their calls for of suspending the election to the Gorkhaland Territorial Management (GTA), which administers the Darjeeling Hills, and make bigger its jurisdiction because the starvation strike of birthday party leader Bimal Gurung entered the 3rd day.
Gurung has been on starvation strike on the GJM’s place of work in Singamari in Darjeeling since Wednesday.
“Bimal-ji is preventing for the rights of the folks of the Hills. His indefinite starvation strike entered its 3rd day, and it is going to proceed to press for the inclusion of 396 mouzas within the jurisdiction of GTA,” GJM normal secretary Roshan Giri stated.
“I’ve written a letter to the manager minister, asking for her to seem into it in my opinion,” he added.
The West Bengal executive on Friday issued a notification, saying the GTA polls on June 26.
The elections to the GTA have been closing held in 2012.
The GJM had swept the polls, profitable all 45 seats.
The GJM has been not easy postponement of the election till the Memorandum of Proposal (MoP) submitted via it’s applied.
Amongst others, it calls for the inclusion of 396 mouzas within the GTA and switch of a few departments.
