In Bihar, an anti-corruption initiative has led to a search of the residences of DSP Sanjeev Kumar, currently posted in Jehanabad. The Special Vigilance Unit (SVU) is investigating allegations that Kumar possesses assets exceeding his declared income. It is alleged that Kumar has accumulated assets valued at over 1.52 crore rupees, far surpassing his known sources of earnings. The SVU has filed a case and is conducting raids in Patna, Khagaria, and Jehanabad. The raids were led by DSP-rank officers. During the operation, authorities seized documents including those related to a lavish building, ten trucks, and numerous bank passbooks from locations in Khagaria. The assessment of these assets is currently in progress. Furthermore, the operator of a private hospital located on the premises was asked for necessary documents. This action by the SVU has brought attention to the police department and its efforts to combat corruption.
