The aftermath of a cloudburst in Dharali, Uttarakhand, has brought immense sorrow to the families of 11 laborers from Bihar, who are now presumed missing and feared dead. The incident on August 5th, caused by heavy rainfall, triggered a landslide that devastated the area. Rescue operations involving the army, NDRF, SDRF, and the district administration are underway, but the search for the missing laborers has been unsuccessful.

The disaster struck Dharali village in the Uttarkashi district, where the cloudburst unleashed a torrent of water and debris, burying the village. Amongst the victims were 11 laborers from West Champaran district, Bihar. Despite extensive search efforts over five days, no trace of them has been found. The affected families, especially those from Mangalhiya village in the Sarghatiya Panchayat (where eight laborers are missing), are in deep distress.

Families of the missing laborers from Ghogha Panchayat have also been affected. The families have expressed their belief that the missing individuals are likely deceased. Local authorities are yet to confirm these reports. The missing also include three members of the same family, Devraj Sharma and his sons Anil Kumar and Sushil Kumar.
