The birth anniversary of Rashtrakavi Ramdhari Singh Dinkar was observed, celebrating his profound impact on Hindi literature. Dinkar was a prominent figure in Hindi poetry, using his words to advocate for India’s freedom from British rule. He continued to speak out against government policies even after independence.

Ramdhari Singh Dinkar is recognized as one of the most significant modern Hindi poets, with works like ‘Rashmirathi’ and ‘Parshuram ki Pratiksha’ resonating deeply with the public. Born on September 23, 1908, in Simaria, Bihar, Dinkar’s contributions remain highly valued.

A seminar was held at the Jyotipuram Apartments Society in Patna, organized under the guidance of Ravindra Ranjan, the President of Swami Sahajanand Kisan Vahini and BJP’s Regional in-charge, to honor Dinkar’s works and legacy. The goal was to keep his literary achievements alive.

Ravindra Ranjan called for the immediate awarding of the Bharat Ratna to Dinkar, recognizing him as a poet of the people. He pointed out that Dinkar deserved this recognition and expressed concern over the delay in honoring him.

Ranjan described Dinkar as a visionary, a great philosopher, and a champion of complete independence, placing him among the most revered figures in Indian literature. He emphasized that Dinkar’s writing shaped India’s culture and offered insights into the past.

Awarding the Bharat Ratna to Dinkar would be a tribute to the public’s sentiments, and a central university should also be established in his name. Dr. Prem Kumar Mani, a notable writer and former legislator, reflected on Dinkar’s works, saying they embodied the spirit of struggle.

He noted that during the freedom movement, Dinkar, in his poem ‘Renu’, appealed for strength. Later, when he saw leaders focused on self-interest, he wrote powerful verses like ‘Do rah, samay ke rath ka ghaghar nad suno, sinhasan khali karo ki janta aati hai’. Dinkar’s work has a lasting impact. The gathering included many notable figures, intellectuals, and BJP leaders, including Pappu Sharma, KK Thakur, Anand Sharma, Sunil Singh, Sanjay Mayank, Pooja Rituraj, and Gyaneshwar Rai.
