A convoy carrying Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav was involved in an accident on Saturday morning in Vaishali district. A speeding truck collided with vehicles in the convoy near Goraul. Yadav was traveling back to Patna after a political event in Madhepura when the incident took place. The convoy had paused for a short tea break on the Patna-Muzaffarpur highway around 12:30 AM. Yadav was a short distance away when the truck struck the parked vehicles of his security detail. His personal vehicle was not impacted, and he was unharmed. Three of his security personnel sustained injuries in the crash and were immediately taken to a nearby hospital. Tejashwi Yadav later visited the injured officials to check on their condition. The injured officials are now stable, although they received significant bruises and some fractures. Local police arrested the truck driver at the scene and took the truck into custody. The authorities are currently investigating the cause of the accident. Some reports suggest that the driver may have lost control due to speeding or fatigue, however, the exact reason is being investigated. This incident has heightened concerns about the security of political figures on Bihar roads, especially during night travel. RJD supporters and other concerned citizens expressed their relief and demanded better road safety measures and stricter traffic rule enforcement on social media. Party leaders have called for a thorough review of VIP security protocols for road travel, especially given challenging road conditions and reduced visibility. Tejashwi Yadav, who has a very active political life and often travels long distances by road, has resumed his normal activities and has assured everyone that he is safe.
