The improved road conditions in Araria, Bihar, have inadvertently led to a rise in vehicle speeds, and consequently, a concerning increase in road accidents. Over the last five days, the district has recorded seven fatalities due to these accidents. A major contributing factor is the violation of traffic regulations by vehicles traveling on the National Highway.

The most recent fatal accident occurred on Saturday evening near the Simraha overbridge on the Araria-Farbisganj National Highway, claiming the lives of three young individuals. Before this, on Thursday, a 30-year-old man was killed after being struck by an unidentified truck. The man was a resident of the Khajurbari village.

Accidents continue to plague the area. On Thursday evening, a 75-year-old man lost his life in an accident on the Simraha-Saifganj road in the Farbisganj block. Earlier, on June 9th, two youths died and three others were injured when their vehicle skidded on maize drying on the road in the Mahlagaon police station area.

The families of the three youths who died in the Saturday evening accident, which involved a biryani shop owner and two staff members, are now facing immense grief. National Highways 327E and 77, which run through the Rani Jung area, are witnessing frequent accidents, resulting in loss of life.
