The Bihar Revenue and Land Reforms Department has contradicted media reports which suggested a resolution had been reached with striking special survey contract employees. The reports claimed the strike had ended after a meeting with the Chief Secretary, and that the Chief Secretary had agreed to address some of the workers’ grievances. The department has clarified that these reports are fabricated, misleading, and untrue. They stated that the reported encounter was not an official meeting. The Chief Secretary was meeting with a few MLAs, and an individual connected with a union accompanied one of the MLAs. This individual tried to raise the contract workers’ strike matter, but the Chief Secretary informed him that the department’s stance would remain and no personal assurances were given. The department advises everyone to trust only verified and authentic sources and to be wary of false claims.
