The department has clarified that these reports are fabricated, misleading, and untrue. They stated that the reported encounter was not an official meeting. The Chief Secretary was meeting with a few MLAs, and an individual connected with a union accompanied one of the MLAs. This individual tried to raise the contract workers’ strike matter, but the Chief Secretary informed him that the department’s stance would remain and no personal assurances were given.
