The Forest Department in Bhagalpur has taken action against the Railways for cutting down a tree in Navagachia, resulting in the death of numerous bird chicks. The incident highlights the disregard for wildlife. The Railways, under the guise of station beautification, felled a Pakad tree which served as a habitat for Little Cormorants and Little Egrets. The cutting of the tree caused many chicks to fall, with several succumbing to their injuries. The Forest Department intervened, rescuing surviving chicks and filing an FIR against the responsible railway officials.
