Rahul Gandhi, on his voter rights यात्रा (yatra) in Bihar, asserted that the BJP’s claims of ruling for 40-50 years were not based on foresight, but rather on the ‘arrogance’ derived from vote theft. He directly targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and the Election Commission, alleging a systemic issue. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra joined the yatra, echoing the accusations of vote manipulation and accusing the BJP of undermining public trust. Tejashwi Yadav of the RJD also participated, adding the charge of stealing reservations. Rahul Gandhi referenced Amit Shah’s previous statements about the BJP’s long-term dominance, noting his initial skepticism which later turned into realization about the alleged vote-rigging. The yatra, which included stops in Supaul, Madhubani, and Darbhanga, is a part of a larger initiative starting from Sasaram on August 17th and concluding on September 1st in Patna with a rally, just ahead of Bihar’s upcoming assembly elections.
