The accused, identified as Rahul Kumar, allegedly enticed the child with the promise of chocolates from his local shop before committing the heinous crime.
The incident unfolded in a village under Bihta police station limits on Thursday evening. Rahul, who runs a small candy store in the community, reportedly called the girl to his shop under false pretenses. Once inside, he carried out the assault, leaving the young victim traumatized.
The girl’s mother, upon discovering the ordeal, rushed to Bihta police station to file a complaint. Acting swiftly, officers apprehended Rahul Kumar without delay. ‘A woman came to the station alleging her 8-year-old daughter was lured by Rahul Kumar with chocolates and raped inside his shop,’ confirmed Amarendra Kumar Jha, the Danapur Sub-Divisional Police Officer.
