In a shocking crackdown, Noida police alongside the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit and National Human Rights Commission swooped down on three spa centers in Sector 49 late at night. What was advertised as legitimate massage parlors turned out to be fronts for a sprawling prostitution racket operating across the city.
A meticulously planned operation led to the detention of 24 young men and women found at the scenes, several caught in compromising positions. Authorities seized crucial evidence including registers, documents, and mobile phones that could unravel the entire network.
Additional DCP Manisha Singh revealed that the illicit trade was orchestrated through WhatsApp groups, where customers received photos of women and were directed to the spas under the guise of massage services. Digital chats and records recovered are now being scrutinized to identify accomplices and trace the racket’s origins.
The raids have ignited serious questions about local law enforcement’s oversight in this high-tech city. Preliminary inquiries have zeroed in on some police personnel, prompting senior officials to promise stringent action if involvement is confirmed.
Joint CP Rajiv Narayan Mishra emphasized that a special investigation team will probe deeper, particularly how victims were coerced into the trade. This joint effort with Mission Mukti Foundation underscores Noida’s commitment to dismantling such exploitative networks. The city, known for its corporate hubs, now grapples with the dark underbelly hidden in plain sight.
