New Vande Bharat Sleeper Train: Enhanced Travel for Bihar-Bound Passengers

Anticipating the Diwali and Chhath festivals, the Indian Railways is set to introduce the first Vande Bharat Sleeper Express train. This new service is scheduled to commence its journey from Delhi to Patna by the end of September, providing a comfortable travel option for passengers before the festivals. There are considerations to extend the service to Darbhanga or Sitamarhi to benefit passengers in Northern Bihar. This new train will be particularly beneficial for passengers traveling to Bihar during Diwali and Chhath, a time when trains are often overcrowded. The Vande Bharat Sleeper train promises a more comfortable journey and reduced travel times. The train will be able to reach speeds up to 160 kilometers per hour, and the presence of driver cabs at both ends of the train eliminates the need to change engines at terminal stations. The train will incorporate modern safety features, including the Kavach anti-collision system, crashworthy coach design, and European fire safety technology. All coaches will be equipped with CCTV cameras. The train’s interior will be designed to maximize passenger comfort, incorporating features such as glass fiber panels, soft lighting, and comfortable berths. New, user-friendly designs for upper berths will be implemented, and automatic sensor doors and touch-free bio-digester toilets will be available. The Ministry of Railways highlights the Vande Bharat Sleeper trains as a cornerstone of India’s railway modernization efforts, promising faster, safer, and more comfortable long-distance travel, especially during peak travel seasons.
