Lalu Prasad Yadav, former Chief Minister of Bihar and RJD President, has launched a scathing attack on the Modi government, describing the current situation in the country as worse than the Emergency. His remarks were made in the context of the ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra,’ a campaign initiated by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in Bihar to address concerns regarding voter list revisions and alleged vote theft. Yadav emphasized his unwavering commitment to democracy, highlighting past sacrifices and a pledge to continue the fight for its preservation.

Tejashwi Yadav, also an RJD leader, criticized the BJP for its alleged misuse of constitutional institutions and vowed to defend the right of the people to vote. He announced the commencement of the ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ on August 17th, a 16-day event covering approximately 1300 kilometers, with public interactions planned in over 20 districts, culminating in a gathering at Gandhi Maidan in Patna on September 1st.
