During a TV9 digital forum in Purnia, Bihar, ahead of the upcoming assembly elections, JDU leader and Minister Leshi Singh discussed several pertinent issues. The conversation included questions about whether the JDU’s alignment with the BJP on the Waqf law would create difficulties for the party within the Seemanchal region. Singh responded by stating that the party bases its appeal on the work it has accomplished for the people.

On the Waqf law, Singh emphasized the equitable and just governance under the current administration and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. She pointed to the Purnia region as a prime example of this fairness, noting that the Chief Minister consistently ensures equal development for all. She further explained that their approach to the public focuses on their achievements, and that the party is supported by the people.

Singh also addressed criticisms leveled against her, regarding her supposed closeness to figures associated with ‘Bahubali,’ which she dismissed as unfounded. She underscored her commitment to the welfare of the people and highlighted the trust the underprivileged have in the administration’s impartial actions. Singh contrasted the present government with the previous one, where certain groups were allegedly favored. She emphasized that her government is committed to justice, where the public is the ultimate authority in a democracy.

Regarding the visit of RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav to the Purnia Medical College, Singh suggested that if Yadav had inspected the hospital’s condition during his time as Health Minister, it would have signaled his dedication to improving healthcare. She implied that his recent visit was politically motivated. Singh also criticized Yadav for not notifying the hospital administration, and for the subsequent deterioration of the situation after his departure. Furthermore, she pointed out that some individuals present with patients were incorrectly identified as patients.

When asked about the JDU’s perceived decline in the Purnia region, Singh acknowledged that electoral outcomes are subject to change. She reiterated the party’s commitment to improving and its intention to win the public’s support in the upcoming elections. She also acknowledged the influence of various factors in elections and assured a robust preparation for the Purnia region.
