JDU Vows to Block UCC Implementation in Bihar After Amit Shah's Announcement

The Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced in Mumbai that the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) will be introduced across all 21 NDA‑ruled states by 2029. The statement sent ripples through the coalition, prompting the Janata Dal (United) to adopt a defensive posture. JDU leader Shyam Rajak publicly declared that the party will not allow the UCC to be enforced in Bihar under any circumstances. In response, senior party functionary Sanjay Jha confirmed that JDU will seek a direct meeting with Amit Shah to present its concerns and negotiate a possible compromise.
