A newlywed woman has died under mysterious circumstances in Begusarai, Bihar, prompting a police investigation. The woman, who had a love marriage four months ago, died after her husband said she ingested poison. The husband claims his wife took her life after she was denied permission to visit her parents. Police have sent the body for a post-mortem examination.
In January, Rakhi Kumari and Ravish Kumar married after eloping. Rakhi’s family disapproved of the marriage and reportedly pressured her to return home, leading to frequent disagreements. Ravish said that Rakhi’s family came to take her away. Later, when Ravish returned home from work, Rakhi’s health had worsened. She was rushed to a hospital but passed away. The doctor informed Ravish his wife had ingested a poisonous powder.
However, the deceased’s mother claims that her daughter was killed by her in-laws due to a demand for a motorcycle as dowry. The police have registered a case and are investigating the matter, with reports of a confrontation between the two families at the hospital.
