The upcoming Bihar Assembly elections have prompted various political parties to strategize. Bhojpuri star Pawan Singh has re-entered the political arena. He met with Upendra Kushwaha of the Rashtriya Lok Samta Party, and then with Union Home Minister Amit Shah. This has led to discussions about Singh’s potential candidacy for the Ara assembly seat. Singh was expelled from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) last year for contesting the Karakat Lok Sabha seat against the NDA’s candidate, Upendra Kushwaha. Singh’s actions damaged Kushwaha’s chances, and he ended up in third place. Singh’s recent efforts to reconcile with Kushwaha are noteworthy. The BJP had earlier nominated Singh for the Asansol Lok Sabha seat, but he withdrew. The withdrawal followed allegations that his songs contained offensive content against Bengali women.
