Delhi residents are bracing for another day of clear skies and rising temperatures on Monday, February 23. After intense sunlight scorched the city yesterday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts mostly sunny conditions with possible morning haze. Maximum temperatures could climb to 29-31°C, while minimums hover between 13-15°C, both well above seasonal norms.

The heat is set to intensify, with daytime highs expected 3-5°C above average and nighttime lows 1.6-3°C higher. However, relief might be on the horizon. IMD forecasts a weather shift in North India over the next 48 hours, bringing clouds and light to moderate rain to several areas. This comes after a week of erratic patterns in Delhi-NCR, from light showers to harsh sun, accompanied by winds gusting 17-20 km/h.

Recent warm spells prompted locals to shed winter layers, boosting sales of lighter clothing. But with rain looming, cooler air and dropping temperatures could return soon. Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Madhya Pradesh face dry, sunny weather, pushing daytime mercury 1-3°C above normal and intensifying the heat.

In the south, heavy rain alerts are out for parts of Tamil Nadu and Kerala, while Andaman & Nicobar may see thunderstorms with winds up to 40 km/h. Over the next week, northwest India could see temperatures rise another 3-4°C. Rain is also likely in Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Assam, and Telangana, with lightning risks. Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh prepare for precipitation in coming days.

As India navigates this mixed weather bag, staying updated with IMD bulletins remains crucial for planning outdoor activities safely.
