    The 8th Bihar Student Parliament, held at Anugrah Narayan College in Patna, brought together various dignitaries and young leaders. The event was organized under the guidance of Ankit Kumar, with Minister Nitin Naveen of the Bihar government attending as the chief guest. Other prominent attendees included Maulana Kalbe Rushaid Rizvi, Ratnesh Kushwaha, Rahul Jha, IPS Vikas Vaibhav, Varun Kumar, and advocate Kumar Shanu, along with aspiring youth from across the state.

    IPS Vikas Vaibhav, during his address, emphasized the significance of Bihar’s growth for India’s overall advancement. He argued that the development of Bihar is essential for achieving a developed India by 2047. He believes that the state’s prosperity depends on providing its youth with access to education and employment within Bihar, thereby reducing the necessity for them to seek opportunities elsewhere.

    **Per Capita Income in Bihar: Reaching ₹76,490 Annually**

    Data from the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, Government of India, was cited to highlight Bihar’s progress. The state’s growth rate is reported at 8.64 percent at constant prices and 13.09 percent at current prices, the second-highest in the country. Per capita income has risen from ₹68,624 in 2023-24 to ₹76,490 in 2024-25.

    **Bihar’s Low Monthly Per Capita Income Compared to National Average**

    IPS Vikas Vaibhav pointed out that Bihar’s monthly per capita income is significantly below the national average. The state’s average is ₹6,374, while Delhi’s is ₹46,060, Telangana’s is ₹35,644, and Karnataka’s is ₹35,154. Bihar’s figures are also lower than those of neighboring states like Jharkhand (₹10,687) and Uttar Pradesh (₹10,353).

    **Projected Per Capita Income by 2030: ₹12,820**

    Vaibhav also indicated that even with a 15 percent growth rate, Bihar’s per capita income by 2030 would only be around ₹12,820, and by 2035 it would be approximately ₹25,786, still lower than many other states. The event also included discussions on the impact of caste-based politics and social fragmentation on development.
