In a bold move to curb rising crime, the Bihar government is set to construct a ultra-high security prison reminiscent of the infamous ‘Kala Pani’ cellular jail. This fortress-like facility will be built on a desolate hilltop in a remote area, ensuring inmates remain completely isolated from the outside world.

Home Minister Samrat Chaudhary announced the plan during the Bihar Assembly’s budget session. The jail will have no mobile network or internet access. A single, heavily guarded road will be the only way in or out, with security checkpoints at every turn to prevent any unauthorized access.

This drastic measure targets serious and hardcore offenders who have terrorized the state. ‘No one will even be able to approach the vicinity,’ Chaudhary emphasized, crediting Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for the initiative. The prison aims to break the criminals’ connections with the external world, making escape or communication impossible.

While the exact location remains undisclosed, the facility promises to be Bihar’s most secure incarceration site. Currently, Bhagalpur Central Jail houses many notorious criminals, but this new setup will raise the bar significantly.

The announcement has sparked discussions on law and order in Bihar, where crime rates have been a persistent challenge. Supporters hail it as a game-changer, while critics question the costs and human rights implications. As construction details emerge, all eyes are on how this ‘Kala Pani 2.0’ will transform the state’s fight against crime.
