In Bihar, the RTPS system is being used to process applications for residence certificates, and recent instances have raised eyebrows. Several applications with bizarre names and addresses have been filed and are being widely shared. An incident from Khagaria highlights applications made under names like ‘Shri Ram, son of Dashrath’ and ‘Crow.’ Following the discovery of these applications, senior officials rejected them and filed a case in the concerned police station. The Chautham zonal officer’s office in the Khagaria district received an application for a residence certificate that stated the applicant’s name as Shri Ram, father Dashrath, mother Kaushalya, with the address Ayodhya, village RAM, Panchayat Post Office, Ayodhya, Police Station Chautham. Another application submitted used the name of Shrimati Mata Sita, father Raja Janak, mother Rani Sunaina, with the address RAM, Ayodhya, village Ram Panchayat Post Office Ayodhya.
