Bihar is witnessing heightened political activity as the assembly elections draw near. The opposition coalition is conducting a ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra,’ or Voter Rights March, across the state, alleging irregularities in the voting process. In response, the NDA is preparing to intensify its election campaign.

The NDA plans to launch its campaign after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally in Gaya on August 22. A key element of the NDA’s strategy is the deployment of ‘Team 98,’ comprised of 14 teams of 7 leaders each. These teams will include representatives from all NDA partners, including the BJP, JDU, LJP, HAM-S, and RLM.

The election campaign will unfold in two phases, spanning from August 23 to August 30. Each team will be responsible for visiting and engaging with voters in six assembly constituencies over six days. The teams will be composed of a mix of central ministers, members of parliament, state ministers, and senior leaders from the various NDA parties.

The first team will be led by JDU’s Working President, Sanjay Jha. Other prominent figures in the teams include Union Ministers Giriraj Singh, Jitan Ram Manjhi, Nityanand Rai, Satish Chandra Dubey, and Ramnath Thakur. In addition, both Deputy Chief Ministers of Bihar, Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, as well as state presidents and other leaders from all NDA parties, will participate.

To ensure effective coordination and mobilization, the NDA plans to hold joint meetings with party workers at the assembly level. These meetings will provide a platform for leaders to highlight the achievements of the NDA government through joint press conferences.

The BJP, along with its allies, is preparing to launch this initiative at the assembly level. The aim is to counter the opposition’s ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra,’ which accuses the central government of vote manipulation. The NDA aims to energize its party workers and effectively counter the opposition’s narrative.
