Bihar’s political scene is heating up as the assembly elections draw near, with the NDA and INDIA alliances grappling with internal strife. Chirag Paswan, a key figure in the NDA and a Union Minister, is openly criticizing Nitish Kumar’s government, particularly on the issue of law and order. He has expressed regret for supporting a government he believes is failing to address rising crime rates, hinting at either administrative complicity or incompetence. Paswan’s actions echo his 2020 strategy, where he contested independently, aiming to diminish JDU’s electoral success.
Meanwhile, in the INDIA alliance, Mukesh Sahani, the leader of VIP, is publicly expressing his discontent with Tejashwi Yadav, demanding the Deputy Chief Minister position. Sahani’s demand is a recurring theme; in 2020, he sought seats and the Deputy CM role, later joining the NDA after his demands weren’t met.
The situation is further complicated by disagreements over seat allocation. The upcoming elections will present a crucial test for the alliances to manage internal disputes and maintain unity.
