In a decisive move against corruption, the Bihar government has dismissed Supaul Sadar Circle Officer Prince Raj from service with immediate effect. The action followed a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Friday, where the decision received final approval. The Revenue and Land Reforms Department promptly issued the termination order, exposing a long-buried scam involving forged educational documents.

Prince Raj, originally from Madhubani, secured his government job through the 60-62nd Combined Competitive Examination conducted by the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC). However, a detailed probe revealed he had manipulated his age and qualifications using fake certificates. In 2004, he passed matriculation as Dharmendra Kumar from Khirhar High School in Madhubani. Just two years later, in 2006, he obtained another matric certificate under the name Prince Raj from STSWY High School Manmohan in the same district.

The Special Vigilance Unit (SVU) uncovered this double identity during an intensive investigation in 2025. Confirming the fraud, the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) cancelled his 2006 certificate on August 1, 2025. This revelation prompted the Revenue Department to consult BPSC, which greenlit the severe departmental action leading to his dismissal.

Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha, who oversees the Revenue and Land Reforms portfolio, issued a stern warning. ‘There is no place in the system for those who enter service through forgery or corruption,’ he declared. The government has accelerated probes into all suspicious cases of fake documents. Honest officers will be rewarded with promotions, but wrongdoers face zero tolerance.

This high-profile sacking underscores Bihar’s renewed crackdown on certificate fraud, a persistent issue plaguing recruitments. Prince Raj’s case, hidden for over two decades, serves as a stark reminder that vigilance units are closing in on evaders, ensuring accountability at every level. The administration vows to unearth more such imposters, restoring integrity to public service.
