Bihar has taken a significant stride in improving its healthcare infrastructure by inaugurating a new drug control laboratory in Patna. The lab, costing ₹30 crore, was inaugurated by Health Minister Mangal Pandey at the GNM Training Institute, NMCH, Agamkuan. This modern facility will allow for in-state testing of medicines and food products, replacing the previous practice of sending samples to other cities.
The lab is equipped with 28 advanced instruments to perform thorough quality checks. This will reduce turnaround times and ensure quicker action against substandard products. The new facility will also make Bihar more self-sufficient in the healthcare sector. The Health Minister emphasized the importance of this facility in ensuring access to high-quality medicines for the state’s 13 crore citizens. The project supports the government’s vision of a ‘Safe India, Healthy India.’ The inauguration was attended by Assembly Speaker Nand Kishore Yadav and other dignitaries.
