In a chilling crime that has stunned Bihar’s Bhagalpur district, an unidentified young man’s body was brutally dismembered into five parts and scattered across fields and a pond in Amapur Diyara under Gogha police station limits. Most disturbingly, the victim’s head remains missing, leaving investigators puzzled and locals terrified.
The gruesome discovery unfolded on Saturday when villagers venturing into cornfields stumbled upon human body parts strewn horrifically across the landscape. Shocked residents alerted authorities, prompting Gogha SHO Ajit Kumar to rush to the scene with a team. A meticulous search yielded four body parts from the fields and bushes, while the fifth was found floating in a nearby water body about 50 meters away.
Despite exhaustive efforts, the head could not be located, suggesting the killer took it to hinder identification. The victim, estimated to be around 20 years old, wore a wristwatch on one hand, which police hope will aid in pinpointing his identity alongside his clothing.
Forensic experts and a dog squad were summoned from Bhagalpur to the site. Preliminary findings indicate the murder occurred roughly three days prior using a sharp weapon, with the body chopped post-mortem to destroy evidence. ‘This appears to be a premeditated killing,’ SHO Ajit Kumar stated, as teams scour missing persons reports from nearby stations.
The post-mortem is underway, and intensive searches continue in the area. This barbaric act has sparked widespread fear in the Diyara region, raising serious questions about local security measures and leaving the community on edge for answers.
