Amidst ongoing controversy surrounding the Bihar voter list, the Election Commission has released the names of approximately 6.5 million voters who were removed during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR). The Supreme Court had instructed the Election Commission to publish these names to promote transparency. The Election Commission has uploaded the names to the websites of district magistrates, complying with the court’s deadline. According to the Election Commission’s guidelines, Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), who are officials at the Sub-Divisional Magistrate level, prepare and finalize the voter list with the assistance of Booth Level Officers (BLOs).
