Bihar’s Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has declared the implementation of a domicile policy. The announcement was shared via a post on X. The post emphasized continuous work towards improving the education system since November 2005. A large number of teachers have been recruited to reinforce the educational framework. The Education Department has been instructed to modify the rules to give preference to Bihar residents (DOMICILE) in teacher appointments. This policy will be effective from TRE-4, scheduled for 2025. TRE-5 will be held in 2026, preceded by the STET examination.
