In a heartbreaking incident in Bihar’s Rohtas district, a bus carrying schoolchildren on an educational tour met with a tragic accident late Monday night. The vehicle veered off National Highway 319 near Sohsa village in Parsathua police station area and collided head-on with a truck. Two teachers died on the spot, while around a dozen students and others sustained injuries.
The bus belonged to the Middle School in Badhauna, Chainpur, Kaimur district. It was en route to Patna with 36 students and seven teachers aboard, heading to popular tourist spots and religious sites. According to Parsathua Station House Officer Ramchandra Chaupal, the driver likely lost control due to drowsiness, causing the fatal smash.
Rescue teams rushed to the scene promptly. All injured individuals— including two more teachers and about 12 children—were transported to a local hospital for immediate treatment. Officials confirmed that the victims are now out of danger.
The deceased have been identified as Puneet Kumar Sinha from Baghwa village in Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh, and Sanjay Kumar Rai from Bhesahat village under Chainpur police station in Bhabhua. Their bodies were sent to Sasaram Sadar Hospital for postmortem examination.
