During a recent TV9 Digital meeting in Purnia, Bihar, discussions centered on potential reservation for the Pan-Tanti community and the political direction of the Indian Inclusive Party (IIP). Representatives from various political parties in Bihar agreed on the necessity of providing reservation to the Pan-Tanti community.

The IIP leader announced that the party would align itself with the political front that guarantees or pledges reservation benefits for the Pan-Tanti community. Khushboo from IIP emphasized that the community had previously enjoyed reservation, which was later withdrawn. She noted the 2015 reservation granted by Nitish Kumar, which was later overturned by the Supreme Court, even after review petitions.

She underscored her party’s commitment to supporting any party that offers reservation to the Pan-Tanti community, especially if the NDA could secure it through parliamentary action. She demanded a written commitment and immediate legislative action, within five days before supporting the alliance. She stated the IIP’s openness to both the NDA and Mahagathbandhan, but their main priority remained the reinstatement of the community’s reserved status.

Professor Alok from RJD affirmed the party’s support for all communities, advocating for the Pan community’s rightful participation. He criticized the NDA, highlighting their past actions and the need to uphold the SC status for the Pan community. He questioned the Supreme Court’s decision and what he saw as the NDA’s inconsistent stance.

LJP leader Nishant Mishra highlighted the Pan-Tanti community’s historical alliance with the NDA and emphasized the need for the government to seriously consider reservation. He mentioned Nitish Kumar’s review petition and the government’s commitment to the community. He added that the NDA is very positive towards the Pan community. Mishra criticized the opposition for misleading the Pan community. He targeted AIMIM and discussed Chirag Paswan’s political future.

Adil Hasan, an AIMIM leader, stated his party’s solidarity with those opposing the BJP, and those who can defeat the BJP. He criticized the current government’s actions in Seemanchal, particularly regarding infrastructure and the absence of promised special status. He also highlighted the lack of adequate representation for Muslims in the state government and their need for increased participation.
