Patna, January 22 – In a dramatic early morning encounter on Thursday, Bihar Police engaged in a fierce shootout with a notorious criminal linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The suspect, identified as Parmanand Yadav from Latehar district in Jharkhand, sustained injuries and was rushed to a hospital for treatment.
The operation unfolded when Beur police station apprehended several criminals during a routine check. One of them, Parmanand, attempted a daring escape on a motorcycle. Alert officers from Beur station quickly informed Masauri police station, who spotted the suspicious rider near Lala Bigcha village on NH 22.
When Masauri police tried to intercept him, Parmanand lost control of his bike, fell, and opened fire on the officers. The police responded with retaliatory shots, hitting the fugitive. A weapon was recovered from the scene, and forensic teams were immediately called in to scour the area.
Investigations reveal Parmanand’s deep ties to the Rahul Singh gang, which operates under the umbrella of the infamous Lawrence Bishnoi syndicate. With over 20 cases registered against him—including murders, robberies, dacoities, and kidnappings—this hardened criminal has a history of international travel. Hailing primarily from Chetar and Chandwa villages in Latehar, his capture marks a significant blow to organized crime networks spanning Jharkhand and Bihar.
Police continue their probe, piecing together his movements and potential accomplices. This encounter underscores Bihar Police’s relentless pursuit of gangsters infiltrating the state, sending a strong message to underworld elements.
