In a swift operation in Bihar, police have arrested a man accused of possessing illegal firearms and assaulting his wife, following a crucial tip-off from the victim herself. The incident, which unfolded in a quiet neighborhood, highlights the growing role of domestic violence survivors in bringing criminals to justice.

Authorities received the information late last night when the wife, enduring years of abuse, mustered the courage to contact the local police station. She detailed how her husband not only physically assaulted her but also kept unlicensed weapons at home, posing a threat to the entire community.

Acting on the intelligence, a team from the local thana raided the suspect’s residence in the early hours. They recovered a country-made pistol, several live cartridges, and other incriminating items. The accused, identified as Rajesh Kumar, a 35-year-old laborer, was apprehended without resistance.

Eyewitnesses report that neighbors had long suspected foul play but feared reprisal. The wife’s bold move has been praised by officials, who assured her full protection under witness safety programs. ‘Such tips are invaluable in cracking down on illegal arms proliferation,’ said SP Vikram Singh during a press briefing.

The arrest comes amid Bihar’s intensified drive against unauthorized weapons, with over 200 cases registered this year alone. Rajesh faces charges under the Arms Act and relevant IPC sections for assault. Investigations continue to uncover if he was part of a larger network.

This case serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of speaking out against domestic violence. Community leaders are now urging more victims to come forward, promising strict action against perpetrators. The district administration has also announced counseling sessions for affected families.
