Tensions have heightened in Patna following a clash between police and protesters led by Jan Suraaj. Police allegedly used force during the demonstration, resulting in injuries. Prashant Kishor has responded by threatening to paralyze the Bihar government’s functioning across the state if demands from his party remain unaddressed. The focus is on obtaining a written response from the Chief Secretary on the issues put forth by Jan Suraaj. The group attempted to march towards the Bihar Assembly, but police barricades prevented them, leading to a confrontation. Kishor has criticized the government’s lack of attention to the issue of child labor. Police stated that the protesters were restricted from entering a certain area and that discussions were in progress to address the protesters’ demands.
