The issue of SIR continues to be a major point of contention before the upcoming Bihar assembly elections. The opposition has strongly criticized the government and has made serious allegations. Additionally, accusations of electoral fraud have been leveled against the Election Commission. Rahul Gandhi recently met with leaders from the India Bloc to discuss alleged election irregularities; this included a dinner meeting at his home with various India alliance leaders.

Tejashwi Yadav and the Congress party may contest the upcoming Bihar assembly elections as a combined force. Although seat-sharing arrangements are still under negotiation, Tejashwi Yadav indicated during the meeting that their discussions focused on the prevailing authoritarianism. He and Rahul will be embarking on a joint tour of Bihar.

Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav will be embarking on a tour of Bihar before the assembly elections. The tour, led by Rahul Gandhi, will begin on August 17 and end on September 1 in Patna. Tejashwi Yadav declared that they would not let vote theft happen, and they would continue to raise the SIR issue in Bihar. He asserted that they believe in democracy and will not boycott the elections.

The SIR issue has become a prominent political topic, with the opposition strongly criticizing the government’s stance. The issue was heavily debated during the Parliament’s monsoon session, leading to frequent interruptions. Rahul Gandhi presented a report on Thursday that highlighted shortcomings of the Election Commission, once again accusing them of vote theft.
