Lakhisarai, January 24: Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sinha graced the grand state-level Kiul Mahotsav in Lakhisarai district on Saturday, hailing it as a powerful platform to preserve the region’s rich cultural legacy, local talents, and unique identity.
Addressing the enthusiastic crowd, Sinha expressed delight at witnessing the vibrant showcase of Lakhisarai’s traditions, folk arts, and cultural richness. ‘This festival is not just a celebration; it’s a robust medium to safeguard our cultural heritage, nurture local talents, and reinforce our local identity,’ he stated. Such events, he emphasized, provide a significant boost to arts and culture while paving the way for tourism growth and regional development. Paying homage to the cultural dignity of Lakhisarai’s soil, Sinha underscored the festival’s role in promoting Bihar’s timeless traditions.
Turning to national matters, the Deputy CM urged citizens to tune into Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ radio program on January 25. ‘Listen to PM Modi’s thoughts and messages, strengthen your resolve for building a new India, and join the national conversation for inspiration and participation in nation-building,’ he appealed.
Sinha also shared his joy from the ‘Litti with Majhi’ event, savoring Bihar’s iconic litti-chokha. ‘This was a delightful way to connect with our rich folk culture, traditions, flavors, and heritage. Bihar’s culture, cuisine, and pride define our true identity,’ he remarked.
Highlighting Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s recent activities, Sinha noted the CM’s visit to Vaishali during the Samriddhi Yatra. There, Kumar inspected development projects, reviewed progress in a detailed meeting, laid foundation stones for 25 schemes worth Rs 54 crore, inaugurated 103 projects costing Rs 98 crore, and interacted with locals to apprise them of ongoing welfare initiatives. ‘The double-engine government is committed to rapid, balanced, and inclusive development across every corner of Bihar,’ Sinha affirmed.
