Businessman and BJP leader Gopal Khemka was shot dead outside his Patna home last night. The shooting happened around 11 pm near the Gandhi Maidan South area, creating a wave of concern across Bihar. This tragic event occurs six years after Khemka’s son, Gunjan Khemka, was also murdered. The BJP leader was fatally wounded and pronounced dead at the scene.

After recovering a bullet and a shell casing, the police sealed off the crime scene. Khemka was shot by an unknown assailant while returning to his Twin Tower society home. Authorities are currently investigating the case using CCTV footage. As of now, the reason behind the murder is still unknown.

Gopal Khemka was the owner of Magadh Hospital and was known for his engagement with social organizations. Pappu Yadav, an independent MP, has criticized the Nitish Kumar government, claiming that Bihar has become a haven for criminals. He pointed out that seven years ago, he had gone to Khemka’s family after his son’s death to assure them of justice. He lamented that if the government at that time had taken strict action against the criminals, this tragedy might have been averted.
