Bhilai Nagar Station Transformed Under Amrit Bharat Scheme

by World Opinion

In a significant boost to passenger amenities, Bhilai Nagar Railway Station in Durg district, Chhattisgarh, has undergone a complete makeover under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. Launched by Indian Railways, this ambitious initiative aims to modernize key stations across the country, providing world-class infrastructure and enhanced safety for millions of travelers.

The revamped station now boasts state-of-the-art waiting lounges equipped with air-conditioning, spacious platforms with improved seating, and multiple ticket counters on both sides for quicker access. Cleanliness has been prioritized with advanced sanitation systems, while organized parking spaces alleviate congestion for arriving and departing passengers. Additional features include ATM ticket vending machines, pristine restrooms, and comprehensive CCTV surveillance backed by increased police presence.

Local commuters are thrilled with the upgrades. ‘The station feels like a breath of fresh air now,’ said Suresh Prasad, a resident. ‘Parking is sorted, waiting areas are comfortable, and everything is spotless.’ Another traveler, Ram Pratap, highlighted how the modern facilities could draw more trains to stop here, reducing the need for long journeys to nearby hubs.

Railway staff member Kajal Deshmukh pointed out the new conveniences: ‘We’ve installed efficient ticketing systems and upgraded lounges to make travel seamless.’ Officials believe these changes will not only elevate passenger experience but also spur local economy through better connectivity, tourism, and business opportunities.

As India pushes for smarter rail infrastructure, Bhilai Nagar stands as a shining example. However, locals like Prakash Verma urge for more express train stoppages to maximize the benefits. With such transformations, Indian Railways is redefining rail travel one station at a time.
