New Delhi, January 24: Devotees across India are gearing up for a spiritually charged Sunday as it marks the auspicious convergence of Bhanu Saptami and the seventh day of Gupta Navratri. This rare alignment in the Shukla Paksha of Magha month amplifies the day’s significance for Sun worshippers and tantric practitioners alike.

Bhanu Saptami, falling on January 25, is dedicated to Lord Surya. When this seventh tithi coincides with a Sunday, it earns the name Ravi Saptami or Bhanu Saptami. Ancient scriptures highlight that rituals on this day bring bountiful blessings, including prosperity, robust health, career advancement, and relief from physical and mental ailments.

Simultaneously, the seventh day of Gupta Navratri unfolds. Observed during the bright half of Magha, this lesser-known Navratri is revered by siddhas and tantriks for its potent Devi sadhana. The dual festivities on Sunday elevate the occasion to one of profound merit.

The prescribed worship for Bhanu Saptami begins with a purifying bath, followed by offering arghya to the rising Sun. Devotees apply red sandalwood paste, roli, red flowers, jaggery, rice, and water while chanting mantras like ‘Om Hram Hreem Hroum Sah Suryaya Namah’, ‘Ghrini Suryaya Namah’, and ‘Surya Devatabhyam Namah’ at least 108 times. Post-puja, donating jaggery, wheat, red cloth, or copper items as per one’s capacity is considered highly auspicious.

Beliefs hold that sincere devotion to Surya on this day infuses the devotee with renewed vitality, propels professional success, alleviates diseases, and ushers positive transformations. Pairing it with Devi worship during Gupta Navratri bestows dual divine energies.

According to Drik Panchang, Shukla Saptami tithi lasts until 11:10 PM on Sunday. Revati Nakshatra prevails until 1:35 PM, transitioning to Ashwini. Moon transits Pisces. Sunrise is at 7:13 AM, sunset at 5:54 PM.

For any auspicious undertakings, consult muhurats carefully. Avoid Rahu Kaal from 4:34 PM to 5:54 PM, Yamaganda from 12:34 PM to 1:54 PM, and Gulika Kaal from 3:14 PM to 4:34 PM. Favorable windows include Brahma Muhurta from 5:26 AM to 6:19 AM and Abhijit Muhurta from 12:12 PM to 12:55 PM.

This Sunday promises a celestial boost for those who participate with devotion, blending solar radiance with the Goddess’s mystical power.
