The NIA Special Court in Bengaluru has sentenced three individuals to seven years in prison following their guilty pleas in the August 11, 2020, attack on the DJ Halli and KG Halli police stations. Syed Ikramuddin (Syed Naveed), Syed Atif, and Mohammed Atif were each also fined ₹36,000. These individuals were part of a group of 199 accused, with 187 arrests made. The court proceedings for the remaining accused are ongoing. The attack resulted in the damage of twelve vehicles, including an Innova car. The initial incident involved a group of approximately 25-30 individuals protesting outside the KG Halli police station, demanding the arrest of Naveen for a social media post. Syed Ikramuddin led the protest. Police initiated prohibitory orders under Section 144 CrPC to manage the situation, which subsequently escalated into a riot.
