A passenger at Bengaluru airport was shocked to find a worm in their meal at the Rameshwaram Cafe on Thursday morning. Upon raising the issue, the staff initially attempted to hide the problem. The customer, however, began recording the incident, prompting an apology and a full refund of ₹300.
This event comes at a time of heightened scrutiny of food safety. The Rameshwaram Cafe has faced other issues previously. Other incidents include a cockroach found in bread pakora at Jaipur International Airport, a dead mouse in chocolate syrup at Jaipur Airport, and an insect in a Burger King burger. Furthermore, a Shiv Sena MLA, Sanjay Gaikwad, complained about the quality of food at the Akashwani canteen in Mumbai. The staff were not attentive to his complaints. After this, the FDA temporarily suspended the license of Ajanta Caterers, which managed the Akashwani canteen, after samples of the food were taken. Gaikwad has since stood by his complaints.
