A farmer in Beed, Maharashtra, Suresh Jadhav, took his own life by hanging himself outside the Chhatrapati Multistate Co-operative Society office. The farmer’s suicide came after repeated attempts to recover his fixed deposit of Rs 11.5 lakh, which he had invested in 2020. His wife explained that they needed the money for their children’s education. Despite previous threats, the cooperative society failed to return the funds. Police found his body and are now probing the incident. A case of abetment has been lodged against the former president of the society.
