In the aftermath of the September 26th incident in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, the city is under tight security. A team of Samajwadi Party (SP) leaders, including the Leader of Opposition and veteran party member Mata Prasad Pandey, were scheduled to visit Bareilly today to survey the situation. The local authorities, however, have rejected their request for entry. Police presence has been increased around Mata Prasad Pandey’s Lucknow residence, and a directive from the PGI police station has been issued, barring their visit to Bareilly.
