Assam bans ‘unlawful killing or sacrifice of cows, calves, camels’ on Bakrid

GUWAHATI: The Assam executive has issued a typical working process to thwart the unlawful killing or sacrifice of cows/calves, camels and different animals at the instance of ‘Bakrid’.

In an order, the state’s House division directed all deputy commissioners (DCs) and superintendents of police (SPs) to do so in opposition to the offenders.

The present Assam Livestock Preservation Act, 2021 bans the shipping of farm animals from side to side the state in addition to inside the state and the sale or be offering of pork or pork merchandise in any space predominantly inhabited through non-beef-eating communities.
