Mumbai’s elite gathered at the opulent St. Regis hotel on Thursday for a wedding that blended cricket royalty with business prominence. Arjun Tendulkar, son of cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, tied the knot with entrepreneur Sania Chandok in a ceremony attended by top political figures, including Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
Fadnavis, who graced the event, took to X to express his delight. ‘Thrilled to be part of Arjun and Sania’s special celebration in Mumbai today,’ he posted. ‘Wishing this young couple a beautiful journey ahead. Heartfelt congratulations to Bharat Ratna Sachin Tendulkar, his family, and the newlyweds.’
Deputy CM Eknath Shinde also attended, presenting the couple with flowers and sharing his wishes for their future. ‘It was an honor to join the wedding of Sachin Tendulkar’s son Arjun and Sania at St. Regis,’ Shinde wrote on X. ‘CM Fadnavis was there too, making it a memorable occasion.’
Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray added his voice, posting, ‘Heartiest congratulations to Sania and Arjun! Wishing them a lovely life together.’
The engagement had taken place privately in August 2025, with preparations kicking off in early March 2026. Arjun, following in his father’s footsteps, plays domestic cricket for Goa and has recently joined Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL after stints with Mumbai Indians.
Sania, from a prominent business family, is the granddaughter of Grivas Group chairman Ravi Ghai. She has carved a niche in pet care and animal welfare, working as a veterinary technician and entrepreneur.
This union marks a new chapter for the Tendulkar family, bridging sports and enterprise under the watchful eyes of Maharashtra’s leadership. As guests from cricket, politics, and business mingled, the event underscored the enduring influence of the Tendulkar legacy.
