Andhra Pradesh: Minister’s Relative Slaps Police Officer, Faces Arrest Following Temple Incident

In a troubling incident at a temple inauguration in Andhra Pradesh’s Nandyal district, a police constable was assaulted by Bobbala Madana Bhupal Reddy, the cousin of TDP Minister BC Janardhan Reddy Badha. The incident, captured on video, happened at the Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple in Kolimigundla Mandal. Sub Inspector Jaswanth Kumar was on duty when he stopped Reddy from entering a restricted area. Subsequently, Reddy allegedly verbally abused and physically assaulted the constable. The Kolimigundla police have arrested Reddy. Minister BC Janardhan Reddy condemned the assault and ordered legal action. The YSRCP has condemned the incident, saying it highlights a growing sense of impunity among those connected to power.
