Mumbai, February 10 – In a pressing call for transparency, NCP (Ajit Pawar faction) leader Amol Mitkari met Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday to demand a high-level investigation into the tragic death of former Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. The shocking plane crash on January 28 has left the state reeling, and Mitkari insists that unanswered questions must be addressed.
Speaking to reporters in Mumbai after the meeting, Mitkari revealed that NCP workers urged the CM for a thorough probe. ‘The VSR flight was in poor condition, unfit even for a VIP like Ajit Pawar,’ he stated emphatically. ‘We cannot accept this. A high-level inquiry is essential to uncover the truth.’ Fadnavis assured that CID is already investigating, but Mitkari stressed Maharashtra remains in shock and demands full accountability.
Mitkari highlighted the emotional toll on Fadnavis, who lost a close ally and key Mahayuti pillar. ‘The CM was visibly moved, standing like a brother to Sunetra Pawar,’ he said. Fadnavis promised a high-level probe, vowing to resolve the mystery surrounding Pawar’s demise.
Drawing from personal experience, Mitkari shared, ‘I’ve flown with Ajit Pawar about 12 times. He was extremely cautious—checking weather, flight readiness, even canceling trips if needed. How could such a vigilant man board that faulty plane?’
Addressing Sharad Pawar’s initial statement on the crash day, Mitkari defended it as context-driven. ‘As a senior politician who lost his son, Pawar spoke per the situation to avoid chaos. We respect that, but now truth must prevail.’
The demand resonates amid public grief, with Mitkari’s push signaling deeper suspicions. As Maharashtra mourns, the call for justice grows louder, promising no stone unturned in unraveling the crash’s secrets.
