Haridwar is set to receive a major boost in healthcare infrastructure as Union Home Minister Amit Shah prepares to inaugurate the Patanjali Emergency and Critical Care Hospital on Thursday. This landmark event marks a significant step towards modernizing health services in the region, promising timely critical care for seriously ill patients.

Arriving in Uttarakhand on a two-day visit, Shah’s itinerary blends spiritual, cultural, and social engagements, underscoring the government’s commitment to holistic development rooted in tradition. His first stop at 10 AM will be Maharishi Dayanand Gram at Patanjali Yogpeeth, where the new hospital will be unveiled. Local residents and medical experts anticipate this facility will bridge critical gaps in emergency response, reducing the need for patients to travel long distances for advanced treatment.

Shortly after, at 10:45 AM, Shah will visit Gayatri Tirth Shantikunj to offer prayers at the Akhand Jyoti and interact with members of the Gayatri Parivar. This spiritual hub has long influenced national life through its blend of devotion and social service, and the minister’s presence highlights its enduring relevance.

The day’s highlight includes a grand public event at Bairagi Island celebrating the birth centenary of Param Vandaniya Mata Bhagwati Devi Sharma and the Akhand Deep Shatabdi Varsh. Titled ‘Shatabdi Varsh Samaroah 2026,’ the gathering will draw devotees from India and abroad. Shah is expected to address the assembly, praising the Gayatri Parivar’s contributions to social reform and spiritual awakening.

On Wednesday, Shah participated in the centenary release of Kalyan magazine at Geeta Bhawan in Rishikesh. He lauded Geeta Press’s century-old legacy as a cornerstone of India’s cultural and spiritual renaissance. Emphasizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of centering Indian culture in national policies, Shah paid tribute to Hanuman Prasad Poddar, the ‘Karmayogi’ founder who dedicated his life to strengthening Sanatan Dharma through Geeta Press.

This visit not only advances healthcare but also reinforces the fusion of spirituality and progress, setting a template for integrated development across the nation.
