New Delhi buzzed with political warmth on February 5 as Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan celebrated his birthday. Leading the tributes was Home Minister Amit Shah, who praised Chouhan’s unwavering commitment to farmers and rural development under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.

Shah took to X, posting, ‘Heartiest birthday wishes to Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. Under PM Modi’s guidance, you are steadfastly advancing farmers’ welfare and rural progress. May Lord Mahakal bless you with long life and good health.’

The greetings poured in from across the BJP spectrum. Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, a cabinet colleague, shared his message: ‘Happy birthday to my fellow cabinet member Shivraj Singh Chouhan ji. Praying to the Almighty for your excellent health, longevity, and a prosperous life.’

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also extended warm wishes, recognizing Chouhan’s legacy as former Madhya Pradesh CM and senior BJP leader. ‘Heartiest birthday greetings to Shivraj Singh Chouhan ji. May Baba Mahakal grant you robust health and a long, illustrious life,’ he posted.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma highlighted Chouhan’s dedication to agriculture, saying, ‘Happy birthday to Union Minister Shivraj Chouhan. Your tireless efforts ensure holistic development for our farmer brothers and elevate the agri-sector to new heights. May Maa Kamakhya and Mahapurush Srimanta Shankaradeva bless you with good health and long service to Mother India.’

In a reflective response, Chouhan shared his philosophy on X. ‘Service is the eternal form of love. While we celebrate birthdays with joy, each one marks a year less in our lifespan. The thought arises: how to make the remaining life meaningful? Our scriptures teach ‘Atmanvat sarvabhuteshu’ – see the self in all beings. Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam – the world is one family. Let there be goodwill among all creatures for global welfare.’

He emphasized, ‘When we recognize the same consciousness in everyone, we must love all as our own. The highest expression of love is service. Thus, serve everyone with love – that’s life’s true purpose. This resolve strengthens in my heart. Protecting nature is sacred service too. Plant trees daily to fulfill our duty to earth, nature, and future generations. I do it every day; please join me by planting one tree.’

Chouhan’s message resonated widely, blending personal introspection with a call to national service, underscoring his role as a people’s leader in Modi’s transformative agenda.
