New Delhi witnessed a powerful message from Union Home Minister Amit Shah on National Girl Child Day, observed every year on January 24. In a heartfelt post on X, Shah extended greetings to all, emphasizing that girls are not merely a responsibility but the true strength of the nation.
Shah drew inspiration from historical figures like Rani Lakshmibai, Rani Velu Nachiyar, Mula Gabhru, and Pritilata Waddedar, whose legacies continue to inspire pride and motivation across India. ‘These exemplary women fill every Indian’s heart with pride and inspiration,’ he stated.
Highlighting the Modi government’s commitment to women-led development, Shah noted how ‘Nari Shakti’ has been placed at the forefront of progress. Today, women are leading India’s advancement in various sectors, marking a significant shift towards empowerment and equality.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath echoed similar sentiments, calling daughters a blessing, a matter of pride, and the nation’s identity. In his X post, he congratulated mothers, sisters, and daughters, applauding their struggles, dedication, and successes in nation-building.

National Girl Child Day, initiated in 2008 by the Ministry of Women and Child Development, focuses on the rights, education, health, nutrition, and overall well-being of girls.
