Mumbai’s political circles are abuzz with controversy following the tragic plane crash that claimed the life of late Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. NCP leader Anand Paranjape has sharply criticized attempts to politicize the incident, insisting on a thorough and unbiased investigation into the Baramati crash.

The crash occurred when Ajit Pawar’s aircraft suddenly plummeted in Pune’s Baramati area, killing Pawar, the pilot, crew members, and two others—a total of five lives lost in a heartbreaking disaster. Since the accident, Pawar’s family and party colleagues have been vocal in demanding a CBI probe, amid swirling rumors and political finger-pointing.

Speaking exclusively to reporters, Paranjape recounted the sequence of events. ‘From day one, we’ve demanded a full inquiry,’ he said. He recalled how Central Civil Aviation Minister K. Ramanayudu and Muralidhar Mohar visited Baramati on the day of the crash, assuring an investigation by the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau. Later, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced a CID probe.

Just days ago, NCP heavyweights Prufull Patel, Sunetra Pawar, and Sunil Tatkare met the Chief Minister to push for CBI involvement. Paranjape emphasized the need to scrutinize VSR Aviation’s track record, including the plane’s history before and after the crash.

‘Even Rohit Pawar, Ajit Pawar’s nephew, has every right to question and demand answers,’ Paranjape noted. However, he condemned the efforts to paint the tragedy with political colors, calling it deplorable. As calls for justice grow louder, the nation watches closely for transparency in unraveling the mystery behind this fatal mishap.
